The Halyards have just added an opening slot for Scottish legends Big Country at El Corazón July 1st. Also on the bill are our pals The Jilly Rizzo. The Halyards music is best described as an eclectic blend of Rock, Folk, Country, Pop and Traditional. Labeled by some as “Roots Rock-Americana”, their driving acoustic guitars, soaring vocal harmonies, transcendent instrumental passages, superior musicianship and top-notch songwriting all combine for a unique and highly entertaining musical experience.
In live performances, The Halyards bring their original material to life with a dynamic show featuring varying instrumentation and a wide range of musical styles. They also fuel their energetic sets with their own take on classic covers from yesteryear, tipping their hats to classic songwriters and many musical influences.
Formed in 2009 by Carl Funk, Larry Mason, Garey Shelton, and Grammy winner Eric Tingstad, The Halyards debuted their first full length album Fortune Smiles in 2010.
